4.4.2 InServ Mapping
The InServ Mapping option is used to map existing InServ credentials to be used by Host
Explorer for submitting corresponding ESX host information. The InServ credentials need to be
created via InServ Credential or RMVMware.exe prior to the mapping. Since Host Explorer uses
the system ID obtained from ESX host information to determine which InServ it is connected
to, only one mapping is allowed per InServ. The Host Explorer InServ Mapping option
appears (Figure 4-8).
Field Description
Start Service Starts the Host Explorer service.
Stop Service Stops the Host Explorer service.
Refresh Service Refreshes/restarts the Host Explorer service.
Change Refresh
Interval
Allows you to change the refresh interval that determines how
frequently the host explorer service checks for host changes. The
current state is compared with the previous state and, if there
have been any changes, the InServ is updated. The default refresh
interval is set to 12 hrs.
Status Indicates whether the 3PAR Host Explorer service is currently
running.
NOTE: The Host Explorer Service needs to be restarted after changing the refresh
interval time.
