HP 5900 switch - Enet Configuration Guide

4.3 Setting Ethernet port type to carry FCoE tagged packets
• For carrying FCoE traffic, set port type to “trunk” mode (to permit tagged and untagged frames
coming from initiator).
• This switch uses the Cisco term “trunking” to mean the ability to carry traffic for more than one
tagged vlan on the same physical port.
**note the following may be wrong – it is my best guess without actually setting up fabric, and how
we had to set up the Cisco 5020’s to carry FCoE traffic
system-view
interface Ten-GigabitEthernet1/0/1
port link-type trunk
port trunk permit vlan 10
4.4 PFC settings
**if these are needed for anything
You can set the PFC at the interface level:
system-view
interface Ten-GigabitEthernet1/0/1
priority-flow-control ?
auto Automatically negotiate to enable PFC function
enable Enable PFC function
no-drop Enable lossless transmission for packets with the specified 802.1p priorities
4.5 Link Aggregation Groups (LAG, link bundling, trunking, etc)
**if these are needed for anything
Looks like you need to set the type of link aggregation to use:
system-view
link-aggregation ?
global Specify global traffic load-sharing mode
lacp Configure LACP protocol
load-sharing Link aggregation load sharing
You can set the port priority at the interface level:
system-view
interface Ten-GigabitEthernet1/0/1
link-aggregation port-priority ?
