(3390-A) as the S-VOL is available. However, the swap operation to the reversed combination of

the V-VOL (3390-A) or not-V-VOL (3390-A) as the P-VOL and the not-V-VOL (3390-X) as the S-VOL

is not available.

Note

The following items indicate the note to use the V-VOL as a part of Cnt Ac-S Z pair.

• Cnt Ac-S Z pair creation procedure when S-VOL is used by other program products:

If the S-VOL is used in one of program products: Business Copy Z, migration plan of Auto

LUN, or Compatible FlashCopy during the Cnt Ac-S Z pair creation with V-VOLs for P-VOL

and S-VOL, perform a Cnt Ac-S Z pair creation with the following procedures.

1. Invalidate the settings of Business Copy Z, migration plan of Auto LUN, or Compatible

FlashCopy.

2. Create the Cnt Ac-S Z pair.

3. Validate the settings of Business Copy Z, migration plan of Auto LUN, or Compatible

FlashCopy, if required.

• Designation of V-VOL containing allocated pages to S-VOL of a Cnt Ac-S Z pair:

If the V-VOL that contains allocated pages is designated to S-VOL of a Cnt Ac-S Z pair, the

pool usage of the V-VOL swells temporarily than actual usage due to the page re-allocation.

When you create a Cnt Ac-S Z pair that designates S-VOL to the allocated pages containing

V-VOL, confirm the following items.

◦ Prior to create a Cnt Ac-S Z pair, confirm that pool remaining capacity for the V-VOL is

sufficient.

◦ Prior to create the Cnt Ac-S Z pair, confirm that the pool-VOL registered in a pool is not

blocked. If the pool-VOL is blocked, restore the pool-VOL status and create the Cnt Ac-S

Z pair.

• License capacity when using V-VOL:

When you create a Cnt Ac-S Z pair with V-VOL, the page capacity allocated to the V-VOL is

accumulated on the license capacity of Cnt Ac-S Z. And even if the P-VOL and S-VOL are the

Cnt Ac-S Z configuration of V-VOL and the pair status is Duplex, the license capacity counted

on the P-VOL and S-VOL may vary. In some cases, the license capacity counted by Cnt Ac-S

Z may be less than the page capacity using in the V-VOL. However, the license capacity of

Cnt Ac-S Z does not exceed the actually using page capacity.
