Remove the four screws that secure the drive cage to the chassis.
9. Remove the SAS cage.
To replace the component, reverse the removal procedure.
System fans
The server supports redundant hot-plug fans to provide proper airflow to the system if a primary fan fails.
In the standard configuration, fans 1, 2, and 3 cool the server.
For the redundant configuration, fans 4, 5, and 6 are added to back up the primary fans. This
configuration enables the server to continue operation in non-redundant mode, if a fan failure occurs.
For fan locations, see "Identifying hot-plug fans."
All fans are identical. This procedure can be used for any of the six fan positions.
To remove the component:
1. Extend the server from the rack (on page 29).
2. Remove the access panel ("Access panel" on page 31).
