The balance owing at the end of each payment group is indicated by the height of a bar. The amount by which
the principal has been reduced, and interest paid, during a payment group is shown at the bottom of the
bottom of the screen. The previous example shows the rst payment group selected. This represents the rst
group of 12 payments (or the state of the loan at the end of the rst year). By the end of that year, the
principal had been reduced by $1,676.57 and $9,700.63 had been paid in interest.
