The following

table describes the components of the Static Route List section.

Table 92 Static Route List section components

Component Description

IP Address

The address that you are trying to reach with this route. Valid values are IP or network

addresses “matching” the speciﬁed Subnet Mask.

Subnet Mask

The network mask associated with the IP Address/Network needed to identify the

destination. Valid values are any subnet mask address.

Gateway

The gateway used to reach the destination. A static route that does exclude a

gateway indicates that the destination address can be reached on the local subnet

for the spec

iﬁed physical interface. Values for the Gateway ﬁeld are constrained by

the followi

ng:

• If you spec

ifyavaluefortheGatewayﬁeld, you must specify an IP address.

• The gatewa

y must be reachable based on the network routes created by the

addition of an IP address to the system.

• The gateway address cannot be a broadcast or network address as determined by

the IP addresses on the system or the static route being added.

• The gateway must not be used by any other route on a different physical interface.

Interface The physical interface on the SKM used to reach the destination.
