• If the S-VOL Disable attribute is currently set on a volume, the volume cannot be used as a
V-VOL in a subsequent paircreate operation.
• If the S-VOL Disable attribute is set on a P-VOL, the pair cannot be restored.
Use the Remote Web Console Data Retention window to check whether a volume has the Read
Only, Protect, S-VOL Disable, Zero Read Capacity, or Invisible attribute.
Auto LUN
Observe the following when planning Snapshot pairs with Auto LUN migration plans:
• When a P-VOL and the source volume of a migration plan are shared, the Snapshot pair must
be created before the migration plan is executed.
• When a P-VOL and the source volume of a migration plan are shared, the Snapshot status
must be PAIR when you execute the migration plan.
• Deleting and canceling the migration plan are always allowed; they are not affected by
Snapshot pair status.

Business Copy
Snapshot (SS) P-VOLs can be shared with Business Copy (BC) P-VOLs and S-VOLs. However,
Snapshot’s pair operations are limited according to Business Copy pair’s status, and vice versa.
The following tables show the relationship between pair operations and status.
