Using
the
Internal
Preamplifier
The HP
8591C
cable TV analyzer is equipped with an internal preampliEer.
Using a preamplifier with a spectrum analyzer can obtain a system
(preampliEer and spectrum analyzer) noise Egure that is lower than that of
the spectrum analyzer alone. This improves the system sensitivity for making
low-level amplitude measurements.
However, a preampliEer does reduce the dynamic measurement range of the
spectrum analyzer.
To turn the internal preamplifer on press
C-1,
then
INT AMP ON OFF to underline ON.
