Command line interface syntax and parameters
37
NOTE: When you specify options in the properties file, you can omit them on the command line.
For details about how to specify options in the properties file, see section
5-2 .
NOTE: If you specify a parameter in the command line although the parameter has been specified
in the properties file, the value of the parameter specified in the command line has precedence.
NOTE: When the same parameter is specified multiple times, the value specified last is used.
Parameters are passed to the server as part of a request. Depending on the command, some are
required and some are optional. If you omit a required parameter, you cannot execute the
command. Each parameter is represented as a combination of name and value, such as
parameter-name = parameter-value. The parameter name is not case sensitive. . If you want
to specify a value that includes spaces, enclose the value in double quotation marks ("), as in
hostmode="Windows Extension, Solaris Extension".
NOTE: If you specify a parameter in the command line when the parameter has been specified in
the properties file, the value of the parameter specified in the command line has precedence.
NOTE: When the same parameter is specified multiple times, the value specified last is used.
NOTE: Some parameters cannot be used for some commands. For usable parameters, see
chapter
4.
