Install drives on the quick release carriers to the system tray.

5. Install drive into the front of the system tray:

a. Insert the drive into the chassis.

b. Rotate the tray handle to lock the power connector.

6. Install the server into the chassis ("Installing the server into the chassis" on page 23).

7. Connect the peripheral devices to the server.

8. Power up the server ("Powering up and configuring the server" on page 25).

NOTE: LFF hard drives are illustrated in the figures in this guide. SFF hard drives are also

supported.

Removing a drive

CAUTION: For proper cooling, do not operate the server without the access panel, baffles,

expansion slot covers, or blanks installed. If the server supports hot-plug components, minimize

the amount of time the access panel is open.

To remove the component:

1. Back up all data on the hard drive.

2. Power down the server (on page 18).
