The no-switch option can be used to save an interim configuration which you

will finish later. Saving with the

no-switch option does not change a

configuration’s unsaved status (indicated by an asterisk in the CLI), because recent

changes are still not stored in the active configuration file.

Saving the Configuration File to a Remote Server

You can create a copy of the active Gateway configuration file and store it on a

remote server for recovery purposes. The system backs up the active configuration

file automatically; however, storing a copy of the file on a remote server ensures

that you can restore the system configuration to its current settings if needed.

The following procedure should be performed on all HP VMA SAN Gateway

nodes in the cluster (Master and Standby).

1. First, show the configuration files associated with the HP VMA SAN

Gateway using the following command. The configuration file in use is

followed by (active).

* gateway [cluster: master] (config) # show

configuration files

initial (active)

initial.bak

initial.prev

2. Make a copy of the active configuration file using the configuration

copy command. For example:

* gateway [cluster: master] (config) # configuration

copy initial new

Where new is the new name for the copied configuration file.

3. Save the copied configuration file to the remote server using the upload

command. For example:

* gateway [cluster: master] (config) # configuration

upload filename scp://username:password@hostname/path/filename

Where:

• filename is the name of the copied configuration file
