Manpages
Manpages provide online reference and comm a nd information from the command line.
Manpages are supplied with the HP XC system for standar d HP X C components, Linux us er
commands, LSF comm ands, and other software compo nents that are distributed with the HP
XC system.
Manpages for third-party vendor software components may be provided as a part of the
deliverables for that component.
Using the discover
(8) manpage as an example, you can use either of the following commands
to display a manpag e:
$ man discover
$ man 8 discover
If you are not sure about a command you need to use, enter the man command with the -k
option to obtain a list of commands that are related to the keyw ord. For example:
# man -k keyword
