2.2.3 Modulefiles Automatically Loaded on the System
The
HP XC system does not load any modulefiles into your enviro nm ent by default. H ow ever,
the
re may be m od ulefiles designated by your system administrator that are automatically
loa
ded. Sectio n 2.2.5 describes how you can determine what modulef iles are currently loaded
on y
our system.
Users can also automatically load their own modules by creating a login script and designating
the modulefiles to be loaded in the script. Users can also add or remove modules from their
current environment on a per-module basis as described in S ection 2.2.6.
2.2.4 Viewing Available M odulefiles
Available modulefiles are modulefiles th at hav e been provided wi th t he H P XC system software
and a r e available f or you to load. A modulefile must be loaded befor e it provides changes to
your environment, as described in the introduction to this section. You can view the modulefiles
that are available o n the system by issuing the module avail command:
$ module avail

2.5 Viewing Loaded Modulefiles
A loaded modulefile is a m odulefile that has been explicitly loaded in your environment by
the module load command. To view the modulefiles that are currently loaded in your
environment, issue the module list command:
$ m
odule list
2.2.6 Loading a Modulefile

rrent session, o r you can set up your environment to load the modulefile whenever you

When loading a modulefile, note that certain modulefiles cannot be loaded while other
modulefiles are currently loaded. For example, this can happen with different versions of the
same software. If a modu lefile you are attempting to load conflicts with a curren tly-loaded
modulefile, the modulefile will n ot be loaded and an erro r message will b e displayed.
